Okay, my curiosity was finally piqued. These are all knives that were found: The first one was in the street when I was riding my bike home from work, its handle cracked from being driven over, the second on a family hike in the 70s, and the third on a vacation trip this year. Of course none of them will actually cut anything.

The little one is my favorite, small enough that I could actually carry it without my pants falling down, and sufficient so that if someone really needs a knife, they should have brought their own. According to my research, it was made by Imperial Knife pre-1940, and used to have a little wire loop on the handle. It's the kind of knife they used to sell at the gas station for a couple dollars.

Nice. That looks like a 3 dot Buck 110 in the middle... sweet. 1980, 81... 440C steel and square bolsters.

Thanks! I've yet to put a decent edge on it, since it's kind of impractical to carry around. Maybe I should do a bit more research on the right way.

The potential for that steel is razor sharp so you've got some work to do!

Just realized you could spin those in a direction to only accidentally hit yourself with the back of the blade. I'm sure the sharp part would still find me, but very cool. Had a cheap one years ago but they are not legal. Probably for my benefit.

Tell you what, flipping is kinda like walking on coals you have to get a respect that's hard to explain. Plus it's really good for carpal tunnel. Also helps not to run a razor shop knife
I dig on flippers but as a knife it's like the last knife I would pick for utility

So I had a bit of a milestone birthday last week and I decided to treat myself with a nice knife.
Spyderco Para 3 Maxamet. Very cool steel.

On a similar note, I have been bitten by the Knife Bug and I am thinking about getting a Chris Reeve Sebenza 31 Small. Anyone currently own one and have thoughts on it?

The fiberglass strop is a new one to me. What can you tell us about it?

The fiberglass side is to prep the blade for the leather side. I got this in West Germany in the '70's. I just noticed it was made by the Illinois razor strop company of Chicago.

Picked up this one last week, a Ganzo knock-off of a Spyderco PM2 with the Benchmade axis lock. I'd been happy with my Spyderco Tencacious as my EDC for the past year but decided to buy this, well, just because I wanted it. Didn't want to spend the $180 on a real PM2, so I plunked down $20 for this one. Has 440C steel, which is pretty decent for a budget beater knife. No complaints so far.

As someone that exclusively carries axis lock Benchmades, this somewhat interests me. Already got a BM beater, and a replacement blade is $20, so buying one of these makes zero sense, and yet I want one. Hope you find one with decent QC, and if you do, please report back.

I bought two on Sunday, as Birdshot suggested. Sure enough, one has pretty good action and one is stiffer. The lockup on both is solid, with no blade play in any direction. The knives came somewhat sharp. I stropped both of them and got them a bit sharper. They are functional beaters that won’t make you cry if you lose or break one. They would make great knives to loan to people who not appreciate a high quality (costly) knife.

If gas to the nearest Walmart didn't cost 10x these knives I'd be down. I've gifted too many nice Benchmades to continue. This could work. Going to keep searching online for some. Love me some axis lock.
