Hey guys. I hear a lot of stories about the ampeg pf500 overheating and being unreliable. Knock on wood, I think I'm one of the lucky ones. I recently posted asking about the head and had mixed results. I pulled the trigger and I figured I'd share my experience with my fellow bottom dwellers.
I just played a 5 hour set with this thing hooked up to two 8 ohm 410 cabs and my head was as cool as a cucumber. I love the tone I'm getting out of this thing. Nice and punchy, and it has a little grit to it which I find makes it sound amazing.
This is my first ampeg setup and I'm very excited. While I did love my gk, it wasn't quite the sound i wanted. even though it was nice and loud (not to mention light) i still wasnt quite pleased with my tone.
Hope the rest of you with this amp are as pleased as i am. Rock on guys \m/
