I wanted to give props to Pierre Laporte, a very well-respected Montreal luthier who's little known outside of the city. Pierre has done work on my basses for close to seventeen years and he is both a fantastic builder and person in general. He recently delivered a fretless 5 that I'd ordered some time ago (the body design is based on the Warwicks I used to play). Originally the bass was to be a 4 string fretted. Then I changed my mind and it became a 5 string fretted... and then a fretless (hence the lines). The body wings are koa and the neck is 25 year-old maple. The fretboard is macassar ebony. Ebony from the same plank was used as a veneer for both the body (between the wings) and headstock.

Thanks, Pierre!

Koa is my favorite wood, and that's a nice one, for sure. I like the body shape, it's kinda' like a Warwick Corvette, which I've always thought was a great looking bass.

The body design was actually a cross between a Streamer and a Thumb (with the longer upper horn for better balance) but, yeah, it does look quite similar to a Corvette.
