Does anyone have any info on this product? Why is availability so limited? How is it in regards to other rack mount tuners? I'm getting rid of the pedal board and going rack and this tuner looks interesting..any thoughts? Advice? Experienced owners? Thanks.

Not quite. The Rocktron VersaTune is a rack tuner with the functionality of the Peterson at a lesser price point.

Thanks fellas. Hey snack pack let me know how that works out for you. I have one on order as well, should be here in a couple of weeks. Yeah, gear nerds bother me too Jimmy, but I only have one bass up at the moment and I only de-tune once. Going to use it more for that than touching up during the set. Thankfully the J-bass stays in tune well, even under some intense beating.

I've had one backordered since before Christmas.
Availability keeps going from 'Next Week' to 'a few weeks' (where it sits at last check today...)
I'm (always...) working on fretless intonation and I want a nice big display I can watch (instead of the fingerboard) to help with that. I have a pedal tuner - but it mutes while tuning which defeats my purpose.

I suppose I have no choice but to remain patient. Can't imagine what the holdup is tho.

I've had one on order from Sweetwater for almost a month and only heard from my sales engineer (or whatever fancy thing they're calling the sales guy) once about 3 weeks ago saying that they had confirmation from Korg that they would receive a large shipment around NAMM. One week after NAMM and still no further information...

As far as the +/- 1 cent accuracy goes, it's a rack tuner that will live in my amp rack. Why do I need something more accurate than 1/100th of a given note? I don't recall any of the Korg rack tuners being more accurate than that and they're an industry standard. I've also found that a more accurate tuner usually means standing in front of the thing for a good bit longer, and who wants to waste stage time fiddling with being accurate within .1 cents?

Got my Korg Pitchblack Pro from Japan today. It tracks very well, although I can't speak for low B, I only play 4 bangers. The 3d effects are neat, and it looks good in my rack. All said, I'm very happy with my investment. Highly recommended if you are in the market for a new tuner. The only thing I don't care for is that the rack ears are plastic,

Thanks for the review SnackPack..I ordered mine before Xmas and still waiting for it..I know that "large shipment" went TO NAMM and not TO the retailers. Rockstars always get first dibs! It's cool. Not too jazzed about those plastic rack ears, but I'm sure I can wrestle some metal ones up somewhere.

I think it's more like 'limited availability.'

Evidently Korg is shipping, if slowly, into a big backlog. So they're trickling, slowly if evenly, into the distribution chain.

Sweetwater got a bunch, but they had a big waitlist. Some earlier on the list than me got their product. My number is supposedly coming up 'soon.' I told that they are told to expect a small shipment next week - not enough to reach my spot on the list. But I should be good for the delivery after that. We will see.
