KTS titanium saddles and bridge base

I've recently started to get some interest in KTS titanium saddles and bridge base. I'd like to know some opinion about it.

This is what the guys at KTS say on their website:

Hi, yoni74.

I haven't tried them, but I have been planning to make my own oil rig bridge for some time now. The only reason being uniqueness of it (and I do have suitable pieces of Ti Gr2).

That marketing speech is hilarious, not much truth from an engineering viewpoint.

If You do a search, you'll find several threads about the subject. Most of the opinions come from people like me who haven't used any titanium parts on their basses and quite a few replies from people who doesn't seem to know a squat when it comes down to the properties of titanium, pure or the alloys. Or how it can be machined and bent and so on.

Funny how my cheap nylon Gibson saddles work as well as anything. The bass stays in tune and has great sustain. I was shocked they work, I was ready to replace them when I first got it, but they work!

It seems like a bunch of Hype, but does sound like it might be cool looking?

What's more hilarious is that people are so mystified by speak like that!!!! (i.e. Monster Cable et al)

I looked at that as well, because I thought it would be very cool to anodize the bridge to match (or contrast with) the body colour. Unfortunately they're way too expensive for how cheaply they look to be built.

A cheap bridge at 8x the price.

There is a noticeable difference with titanium saddles. It is warm sounding, and you can hear the high end of the note yet it’s very warm. I don’t know if it really makes a difference. I don’t know that it’s better than a bridge with Brass saddles or steel saddles. I don’t think anybody can tell the difference if you EQ your app and you are drowned out in a mix. And the recording engineer is going to eat your bass. Thus making these topics moot.
