I recently bought a used Kustom Deep End 300 HD at a local guitar shop. When I test drove it the previous amp tube was blown. The owner replaced it and it played fine. I got it home and it intermittently would crackle and sometimes the sound would be distorted. Sometimes when I would pluck the E string hard the sound would come back.
I took the amp back. The owner removed the tube and it tested ok. Played the amp and it sounded ok at the shop. I took it home.
Again at home I began having the same trouble. I took it back and the owner took the amp to his amp repair guy. The repair guy cleaned the volume and some other stuff. He said it checked out ok.
I picked the amp up and when I got it home it did the same thing.
I did notice that when you strike a low note hard the light behind the tube fades.
The owner told me to bring it back.
I am running the amp into a TC k210 and a Acoustic 115 mkII.
I notice the crackling epically when I turn it up. I have no problem with my Harte ha2500 head.
Anyone know what the problem may be from what I described. Maybe it's my house and the amp does not like it.
