Well i'm new here but thought id give this a shot. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but...
I bought a L2500 2 months ago and have played it about 10 times. I'm just getting use to it, though I havent had a lot of time to spend on it.
Last week I plugged it in and noticed no active settings. I needed some extra highs but when I switched over...nothing. I replaced the battery but no better and the old battery past the lick test. While I had it open I connected and disconnected the battery while the switch was in active position. It popped my amp so there's some connection there but no sound!
    I've contacted G&L but still waiting. ???
Any ideas:confused: on what might be wrong. I'd rather not send it in.
    Thanks for any help

You might want to ask this over on the G&L forum. Lot's of knowledgeable folks there.

I would double check the battery with a brand new one. If that's not it, the pre amp chip maybe faulty. The good news is they are easy to replace. 6 pin, pull out/in no soldering.

    Thanks "Bro"
I found the G&L forum. Yeah I tried a new battery, still nothing . I had text the G&L tech about this and was very suprised to get a response back in the same day! I think it is the preamp , but was hoping for something simple ( or stupid ). I really didn't want to have to ship it to Ca. but I do want it fixed.
BTW I play part time at a local church and have recently joined a 70's band to play at partys and a couple of eateries.

If it's just the pre amp chip, you can change that out yourself if they'll send you one. Trust me, I'm an electronics idiot and I was able to do it.
