LaBella White Nylon grounding issues

Folks - Last year I picked up a set of the LaBella Nylon tapewounds as a special on the Roadie Club website. I popped them on my fretless Jazz (two single coils), and while I loved the tone and feel, the fact that there was no metal contacting my skin prevented the strings/bass from grounding and thus they were unusable. How are you surmounting this problem, or otherwise getting use out of these very interesting strings?

The two basses I play most have active EMG pickups, which don’t need bridge ground wires. Tapes sound fantastic on both instruments, no noise problems.

I have tapes on several basses. When playing or practising I don't mind the hum. On the rare occasions I record with one of them I run a thin wire from the bridge to my ankle and the noise is gone.

If you can make it look like it belongs, I've done a stripe of copper tape along the string path or along the upper bout so that my thumb or forearm connects but yeah hum is an issue.

Shielding everything and using shielded wire helps too.
