Double Bass laborie-rabbath endpin - how long?

It is typically drilled at a 44* angle, so that won't effect anything. I think mine was shipped at about 12" exposed rod length. This is just an estimate based on my memory.

I cut about three inches off (end of bass to plug is the same length as my ULSA endpin was from the end of the crutch tip to the collar at the fourth notch), while my former teacher cut his down to about four inches.

I'm pretty sure my endpin did not ship as long as Rufus Reid's is when it's on his bass.

If you mean how long it is before you trim it to personal
fit, then I don't think there's one answer. Even George
Vance has had some variation in his pins, and there are
a number of different sources. Best to ask the person you
are planning to buy it from.

If, as another poster implied, you are asking about how
long to trim it to, then thats a very personal thing, its
part and parcel with your stance and hold of the bass.

I have two pins, one I kept trimming down until my teacher
looked at it and declared it was too short (she was right too,
it was causing me problems), then I bought a second pin
my teacher had already cut and that she thought was right
for me.

I would love to see a Laborie style pin designed that was
adjustable, and no the eggpin doesnt count, its TOO heavy.

Anyway, as it is you just need to cut carefully and perhaps
end up with a few different pins before you're happy :)

here is an adjustable bent endpin from germany:

the reason why i'm asking for the lenght of the laborie endpin is:

i'm trying to built a bent endpin for my yamaha slb-200 (EUB). the endpin that comes with the yamaha is 100cm long - now I wasn't sure if it will be better to bent the endpin closer to the floor (like the laborie endpin) or closer to the body of the yamaha. i guess this is more a question of stability and physics?!
