That being said, buy and play whatever sounds good to your ears.
Play is the operative word here. The rest does not matter.

I have one ploy, two nitro, one satin & one oil. I really don't think finish is a big factor in the final tone, jmho?

I've never noticed any consistent difference in tone based on the type of finish. But that said, I do really like the feel and look of an instrument painted with vintagy nitro.
