Lakland 44-02 Bridge Alignment

I recently purchased a brand new Lakland 44-02 and it's fantastic. It plays very well, but one thing I noticed is that it feels like the G string is a bit close to the edge of the finger board. There have been a couple times (like literally 2) I went to play a note and I apparently pulled off the edge of the board. I will chalk THAT up to bad technique.

Is this a common issue? Is the only solution new holes?

How bad does this look? You may have to open the image in a new tab as TB is compressing the image.

Looks fine to me.

Appears to be within spec. You could always try loosening the neck screws and pulling the neck to the left / bass side.

Lakland 4-94’s and 44-02’s have slimmer necks. It looks fine, but if you’re concerned take it
to your local luthier.

I was expecting worse, to be honest. Seems okay but from that angle maybe not aligned as dead center as it could be. Worth having a luthier take a look at it, if nothing else you'll be able to stop thinking there's a problem with the bass and just focus on your technique.

Yeah it feels ever so slightly close to the edge. I think I'll worry about it no more.
