Lakland 55-01 fretless?

Does anybody own and play a Lakland 55-01 5 string fretless bass? I have the fretted model and am curious about the fretless model.

They're extremely rare. I think I recall seeing a picture once. Check out the "01 Club" thread in this forum.

They are out there, so someone will eventually respond. I think your question is a little ambiguous though. What do you want to know about them? If you already have a fretted, you know the fit, finish, weight, balance, controls, pickups, and tones. The fretless will give some mwah, depending on your settings.

Don't think they are that rare.

There is one on the used gear site for North Attleboro, MA Guitar Center.

I want one....5 string, sunburst, , rosewood fingerboard, fretless. I actually played it and it was really nice.

It's sounds pretty awesome. I've never played a fretted 55-01 so i don't know how it would compare.

I've found a used, like new, Lakland 55-01 natural body, lined fretless selling online within driving distance. What is it worth in perfect condition? How much should I offer?

Well after years of passively searching I found a Lakland 55-01 fretless.

That's great, I don't think they made a large number of them, but it's hard to say. When I was on a search for a Lakland 55-94 Lined Fretless it took me nearly 5 years to get my
hands on one. My guess would be that they probably build fretted instruments of any 5 String Bass, in much higher numbers than their Lined Fretless. My guess is that it's probably close to
8 to 1 ratio, fretted to fretless.
