well, pickup-winding is not a bad career transition... lots of has-been pop stars turn into drug addicts!

    Doubt it about the Barts.
Sure are a lot of dip switches on that pre-amp though.

    Nope.

In fact, Bartolini pickups will still be offered as well, as will Duncans and Dark Stars.

Dale, have you heard these yet?

Any pre-release info on the sound?

I was kicking around the idea of swapping out the stock Barts on my 55-02 to the Duncans - something a little more aggressive.

    This is interesting news.

Unfortunately, I have not played these yet. However, Dan has some at the NAMM show and is supposed to call me tonight with opinions he's received from players.

  13. Wonder how it compares to the stock Mk1/NTMB setup?

Do you all find it almost too brite?

Unfortunately, many players are finding the hall too loud to do any real A/B testing.

Dan did tell me he plans to send me at least one bass with the new pickups and preamp to have folks try. Anyone up for a Boston-area get together?

I was considering a preamp change to an NTMB for my 55-01, I wonder if I can get the new lakland pre instead of the NTMB as an upgrade?
