i think that bass needs a P pickup where the jazz is on 55-94's.
YES! I've been dreaming of a P/MM 55 for a while now.
Hi guys.
Not been in a Lakland thread since i went over to the dark side and got a Fender ;-). As you can see i still kept my LOG number as i have always intended to come back somehow.
I see a lot of JO(5) but not so many DJ(5). Can anyone explain this? I love the look of the DJ5, especially the block inlays.
Also, can i ask how does the JO5 neck compare to a 55-01? Ive been thinking of getting (actually swapping my Fender P5 for a JO5) but cant get to play one. I used ot have a 55-01 and loved the neck on that.

I thought the DJ5 neck was identical to the 55-xx and JO5 (radius etc). The DJ4 neck has a smaller radius as compared to a JO4 neck. Am I wrong?
If i order a USA bass, that's what i'm going for. I just don't have the funds right now or the patience to wait for one to be made, lol. Nor do i have the patience to work with a dealer instead of Lakland directly. :scowl:
The fingerboard radius is different, and the DJ5 has 1 less fret than the JO5. Plus, the DJ5 has the matching headstock.

Seriously though, it gets here tomorrow, and I am PUMPED!!! It should be a little richer orange than yours given the example I gave him. I had a shade in mind, not necessarily exactly Gretsch Orange. Either way, I guess it's the year of the Orange Lakland!

Cool! Can't wait to see it. Mine orange is very saturated...actually very rich in person, yours looks like it has more red in it. Going to be HOT!
