The ESP has a "Rear PU Coil Sprit Switch"
The ESP is considerably higher priced
The Lakie comes in much cooler colors
it's a Sprite switch, I assume
don't dig the price thing - maybe it is just because the Bardic is a very limited run. And it should be - Lakie speaks for itself to sell much much more!
BassLines were available with Lakland too for a whiler
I thought the lower horn was just an optical effect of the PG but I've checked and you're right
I ain't sure about the bone nut - seems very bone-like on my bass so I wouldn't tell the difference

I'm back! Just snagged Freddel's 4-94 fretless cherryburst blank plank from the classifieds.
I've been eying that one...very nice!!
You guys with fretless Laklands: preferred string? I'm going to try DR Black Beauties. What string comes stock from the factory on 4-94 fretless's? The medium nickel Laklands?
i had black beauties on my JO5 fretless....really nice sound, although I think next time I will try flats.
I would think JO Flats would come on it. I plan on Chromes when I get another fretless.
I had Chromes on my last one. They were really, really nice. I have had LaBella Tapewounds on other fretlii and I really, really like those as well. They are brighter than flats if you're looking for that.
I have had TI Jazz Flats as well. Most seem to really love those strings, but they were just too low tension for me.

black beauties are great, chrome work nicely also.
i switch back and forth between the two. the chromes are deeper and you can still get great growl and mwah.
randy, you should just wire the pickup straight to the jack so you can play it. just twist the wires instead of soldering.
now that im looking at it, it would look good with black or white pickgaurd.

Thanks! I had thought about it, but with the ideas going on for the JO, I wanted the black for some contrast.
Looking at the pics now, the color is somewhere between the two pics. It turned out REALLY well, and I must admit I am glad I decided to show the grain. Thanks to Marty Bell who did the work (and very quickly). He does a lot of the G&L custom work, and this one turned out flawlessly.
