I'm looking to take a big hit on this 55-02 fretless I'm trying to sell just because it's not for me, but I though so assuredly that it was when I bought it.

I think it's probably one of the most versatile hbs out there. Have you played the Lakland?

No I haven't it. I really wasn't intending to throw my opinion on the bass itself. I know he mentioned that this defintely wouldn't be his main bass, so that's why I was thinking that it wouldn't be worth moving a brand new rig just to get his hands on it.

Should I try to move the matching mesa stack and get the hollowbody...or just sit and be patient. Patience and GAS are an unlikely duo.

I'm gonna give it to you straight: No! Selling your only rig, which you are just getting, for a bass that you don't expect to be your main instrument and is far from rare, doesn't make any sense to me. I can't imagine how much cash you'd be throwing away on shipping between the buying and selling, either. Plus, it's an awesome rig, and those Mesa extension cabinets can be hard to find. (I'm hoping you bought the rig used, at least!) Don't do it, that's my two cents.

Ah...I just asked because Lakland's HB crushes most HBs I've heard. Like being hit with a pillow filled with wood chip. The pillow fight was all fun, until I was hit with the wood chip pillow...did not expect that, but damn...that sounded good.

here is the problem...evryone get's all pragmatic when I am just looking for someone to fuel my emotional, GAS based, irrational actions. If you can't do that, your not the friends I thought you were...and yes, I bought the rig used from our own dealer in used bass gear and antiquities, Terry.

I am not gigging a lot right now...so I thought if I unloaded the rig...I could replace it when the JO5 sold...but you are right...shipping is a pain in the @$$ and it is not free either! I guess I will be patient....damnit

LOL...me too...although I am pretty happy in regards to the gear I have now. The only things remaining on the GAS list, are a Lakie HB, a nice DI of some sorts (toneHammer, Sansamp, etc) and maybe a pedal or two. I have given up on fretless....for now and love my tiny mesa's

Hehe. Sorry, didn't mean to unload and burst your bubble. I really dig the Walkabout. Plus, I started to wonder if Terry could buy a US Lakland if he had back the shipping charges from all the Lakies he's bought and sold.:eek:

Thatis kinda how I feel with all of the big cabinets and heads I have sold....and then bought again....and then sold...and then......
