A USA Hobo entered my life six months ago, and we will never part....
I'm totally in love with the Hammon Dark Stars in mine. They're single-coil but have a rich, fat tone. Hum is really not a problem especially if you dime both pickups. Curtis Novak is carrying on the lord's work of making modern versions of these.

I had a Charvel Surfcaster before the Hollowbody and I modded it and fitted a active/ passive preamp as well as a Curtis Novak pickup. It sounded amazing, I do regret selling it.
Do they retro fit in the Hollowbody's?
Wow, that Charvel is really pretty.
My Hobo had its Darkstars installed by the previous owner, so I can't say how easy or difficult it was to put them in.

Thats looks amazing, I know the pickups are expensive but worth it for the quality of sound.

I always wanted a Surfcaster electric guitar, never knew there was a bass version and own a Surfcaster acoustic guitar. In Lakland news I bought a passive tone pedal for my 55-01 from Tiny Tone out of Manchester, UK. Now I have passive tone control on the bass.

Oh those are nice. Certainly much better than the gig bag they used to sell. Those were overpriced and not very well padded. This one I would consider.
Just checked. $39 for shipping. With tax that puts it over $200. I'll just keep using my trusty Gator Transit Gig Bag.
