Been a few weeks now with the new Lakland....so far so good....really enjoying it!
Nice bass and set up! Great tuner too 
I had a 44-02 deluxe in the satin cherry burst and roasted maple neck, rosewood fretboard - it was a very fast and resonant instrument! A bassist friend I record with really wanted it so I sold it to him, it was something I bought in wait for a 55-02 in the queue, very early post pandemic - I do miss having a 55-02 in the stable for backing track projects, such a nice B string and neck, it's my top "boomerang" Lakie model

I remember the days when selling a kidney could get you more than six sets of strings…
I solved that problem many years ago when I discovered Ernie Ball Slinky Cobalt Flatwounds. They're perfectly suited to my mostly finger style playing. While I realize they probably won't work for devoted slap style players they work great for me. Just my take. They have increased in price though but they can usually go for 16 months.

While I realize they probably won't work for devoted slap style players they work great for me. Just my take. They have increased in price though but they can usually go for 16 months.
I don't know, man. I play a fair amount of slap and used them all summer for outdoor gigs and I thought they were great! It's tempting to put them on everything - they're sort of black magic...

Hey Jaime....never really looked into the Lakland strings. Any brands they are comparable to?? They seem like a 'neutral' type of string or do they have a signature flavor of their own?? Thanks!
Thanks for heads up on the Lakland string stock Javman - ordered some as well - as for a kidney or two, here in Canada with shipping, we have to sign off on the whole corpse
They are made by GHS, so there you have it. The Nickels are basically Bass Boomers.
As @macribas said, they're essentially GHS Bass Boomers but I prefer them for the .128 sized B string. I don't like .130s and .125s feel too small for me. The .128 sits right in between the GHS Boomer sets so that's why I wait, and wait, and wait for them to show up on Lakland's site.
That is correct. This was a custom build from a few years back, it is a 34" scale. This was the original Reverb listing for this bass:

Can someone share their experiences with a 4 string J-Sonic?
I would like to pick a used one up here in Europe, and can go for minty J-Sonic for 800€, or a 44-60 Osborn Sunburst (with Fralins) or Metallic Blue for a little less.
I love the Chi-Sonics on my Hollobody 34 and my (now sold) Decade. The Aztec Gold finish is also particularly appealing.
Additional question, what do you string your J sonic with? I play most of my basses with flats, including my 55-AJ.
I play mostly wedding/function bands (pop), big band gigs, and the occasional musical.

It seems like you already have experience with the Chi-Sonics, they are the same pickups, just a little narrower in size. If you like them go for it.
They work fine with flats.
The issue is all three basses cost the same, so having a hard time choosing which bass to go for.
Those are 3 very nice basses to chose from - I acquired a 44-60 burst with Fralins a few months ago, it exceeded my expectations and got me over my Jazz bass blues since going active quite a few years ago - impressive output and low end, great dynamics - love the Aztec Gold with Chisonics, does look mint

I have a five string " Jo Sonic" and love it!
It's strung with Lakland ( stainless steels ...I think!)
Very pronounced J sound...lots of volume and great sound
A while ago the sound guy wanted to know if it was active!
Should fit perfectly for what you are doing.
The fralins will sound more " retro"...
