They are split shaft, the problem is the set screw is so tight they won’t budge without stripping. I got all but 3 off.

Right? Used again last night, completely different type room, fresh ears, sounded even better. I “was”using a Mesa 800+ and this amp just does it. Maybe there is some logic behind no master-
I did not know these amps or cabs existed until I stumbled across a DB200 and matching 410 cab (not vertical) on the local Kijiji last night. Long story short, I am trading my Epiphone T-bird and a bit of cash for it. It looks new and the fellow is not asking a ridiculous amount of money for the rig. My main rig is a GK Fusion 800 212 combo. Looking forward to giving the Laney for a drive! Plus, the looks are stunning.
I have the Digbeth Pre Amp and the 'tilt' gives a quick swing between Heavy lows and no lows at all.
I picked up this rig last week as I mentioned a couple of posts ago. Haven't had much time with it yet but I am using is this Friday for a gig. I really like the looks and so far the sounds coming out of it work for me.
I love my Laney Cub 10 guitar amp and have a generally positive view of Laney. But calling this amp a "Hybrid FET/TUBE Bass Amplifier Head" is misleading. I genuinely thought it had a tube in the preamp and it doesn't, and that seems intentional.
I totally agree.
That being said, I have the 200W version and it can sound a lot like a real tube amp but I can never get the same 'feel' from it I get from my Bassman 135. It sure is easier to carry though

I have the 200 also. A can of soup weighs more than it does. And it is plenty loud, for anyone concerned it won't be loud enough in a band setting.

Seems to be a Mesa killer?
Just surprised me that an D-800+ & TT were kicked to the curb?
I was set to ship the WD-800 I have on hold tomorrow. I then started looking over this 500 watt model. Also, I would get the vertical 4x10" cabinet, too. (I'm sure I could get it in my backseat!)
Anyone happen to have pushed some sub-octave stuff through any configuration that could talk about that??

I had the d800+ before I tried the db500h - Mesa is sold. It has a more focused character set flat. The vertical 4-10 has more mid punch than other cabs I’ve heard. I NEVER cut mids but I bump the low mid curve down a touch with this set up. Solid and light beast rig.Cheers,

So I'm checking out all of the sound samples out there that just sound amazing and are running the DBV212.
8 lbs less than DBV410-4, only 43Hz useable, not 41Hz but a substantial $200 less in cost benefit analysis.
It's so cool to find something unexpected and exceptional in a sweet looking functional presentation!

I run mine through a GK CX410 - I was in my local Music-Go-Round and it was marked down to $180. It was in like new condition, but with people moving to modelers few people are looking for a 410. When I recognized it as the light weight, the first thing I did was plug it in to make sure there were no issue.
As much as I love the Laney cab, I could not justify passing up a deal this great!

Does the Laney digbeth have a fan that makes noise? I’m considering getting one and returning my aguilar ag500 that has a loud fanThe Laney has arrived. Had just a little test drive and I like it ! Very musical equalization. Nice clean channel and a tasty ""tube"" drive section. I think, mids are featured a lot and the mid eq is fantastic.
Not every man's amp but it wil stay. I like the size that fits me better than a matchbox amp. But I am (as said before) not forced to carry the amp arround in the bus. So I like the classic design a lot (maybe because I am not 21 any more for some time now)With a PJ bass (Yamaha BB1000MA) and the clean channel it does a nice and warm sound, for the drive section I played it with a Telecaster bass and this gives you some real volume .. :-D Edit: I love the enormous warm "bass" of the amp. One thing that could be better.. when muted, the led goes from permanent to flashing,- just a different permanent colour would have been even more attractive but it does it's job
Much more fiddling has to be done.....

hey guys I am interested in this Digbeth amp! Trying to decide between it and a mesa subway 350. I’m returning my aguilar ag700 because the fan is too loud for my studio. I don’t think this Laney has a fan? I also never play distortion and wonder if it’s still a good choice… thanks
