Laney RB4 Running a Cab

Today I bought a 160 Watt Laney RB4, I was wondering, it has an 'extension loudspeaker' jack at the back, with 8 Ohms written next to it, can I run a cab off of this jack?

If so which would some of you guys recommend, I find the Laney to be quite boomy, and hifi-ish towards the treble end, what cab would give me good solid low down clean tone, and more substantial highs?

That's what the extension speaker jack is for. I believe this connection makes the amp work at 4ohm which increases the wattage output.
I would reccomend a 4x10" cab as your amp already has a 15" speaker. I own a Laney Rb9 and 2 custom made cabinets, a 1x15 and a 4x10" with eminence speakers and they give a really good punchy sound.
Avatar makes some good, reasonable priced cabs
This one for example has the same speakers I have on mine and they have very nice sound http://www.avatarspeakers.com/

Good morning, I have the laney RB4 165w amp and have bought the Laney R410 4x10" 400w extension cab. works an absolute dream. Matches the RB4 aesthetically and the spread of sound from the 4x10" is unbelievable. hope this helps
