I thought the Dallas GC was like one of the Premier Room (Platinum Room?) stores that would have such basses in stock.
It's been a long time, but I remember looking at their website page and seeing all the upper stuff you just don't find in most of their regular stores.

@OlyWhite be careful with the 635 one. I’ve seen them mark stuff down instead of fixing, and other times try to sell a damaged (beyond repair) bass at full price. All new stock that should be able to be sent back to manufacturer under warranty.

I drove quite a ways once to try an Ibby EHB… the pots were all slanted about 20 degrees from center, and it had damage on the body. I’d accept imperfections like this on a cheap bass, but not one near $2k.

Other GCs in DFW are closer to what you’d expect. I’ve never left the 635 location without being annoyed they were going to sell that stuff to someone who didn’t know better.

Edit: the tone shop in Addison is a cool spot, and they have a plek machine

I'm not in Tennessee, but I would love to check out Bluesman Vintage just outside Nashville.
I have a 5 string from them, and John Scott, the owner is a GREAT guy.
He always has a bunch of cool basses, and does most things in-house.

I've met the guy from Low End at a couple guitar shows, never got the warm and fuzzies from him. Just my opinion
