Lead guitar that makes you reconsider

I kind of would like a Tele, I like how simple they are and they're still used in pretty much all styles.

It's been a long time since I've done much guitar-lusting. Back in the day, it might have been a Les Paul Custom Black Beauty, with chrome hardware, ebony board, mother-of-pearl fretboard inlays.

But I'm actually in the market for a guitar again - after a hiatus of more than 30 years. Got my eye on a Carvin DC200...

A Parker Fly Deluxe could be very nice as well...

I've already had my dream guitar, but alas, it is gone forever. It was a mid 80's SG with a Kahler tremolo, two singles, and one humbucker. It was bright red with black hardware and I loved it.

If I could find another, I'd do what I could to get it.

I've owned a Tele, too. I prefer the Strat and LP style guitars, though. I dig that crunch you get with the gain turned up.

I've heard Teles tend to distort with too much distortion or give too much feedback due to the pickup? Is that true?

Single coil pickups will give you a lot of electronic feedback, so they have a reputation of being noisy.
