Just saw this one on Reverb, looks kickass! I love Squier for even trying things like this, reminds me a lot of the old Fender Pawn Shop series.

that is awesome, and would bring the thunder. My SS Starcaster bass with those pickups is the hottest signal with the most authoritative tone I have heard in a bass.
I hope it does better than the Fender.

Nice! If that's $350 or under, automatic purchase. Is this a short scale? That bridge is MILES from the end of the body, lol!

The 7ender Rascal had the same bridge placement. Dealbreaker IMHO.

Are they made by Yako like the rest of the Paranormals? If so I expect the build quality (and QC) to be a step above the Indonesian Cort/Samick Squiers. It might be a bit heavy though... Is it a poplar body? All the current poplar body Paranormals I've played have been extremely heavy, including the guitars. Generally I tend to like the tone of heavy basses but this might be a dealbreaker for a lot of people.
Any idea how these pickups are voiced? Are we in Fender split coil territory or is it more like a classic humbucker tone?

Looks like a short scale to me and the original Rascals were short scale too. Can anyone confirm?
Yeah. Looks great, but ergonomically ... just push all the top stuff forward, with a deeper neck pocket, which puts that upper horn by the 12th fret where it belongs ... hmm, so I guess I'd want a different bass
. It does look cool though!
As someone who owned the Fender version, you get used to the bridge placement but for a short scale they were pretty abnormally heavy at almost 10 pounds at least for mine. Looks like similar pickups to the pawn shop mustang though so that should be fun!
EDIT: Seems like there's a Squier Jazzmaster XII and a few other fun guitars on the way as well!

I tried a Fender Rascal a few years ago. It felt surprisingly big for a 30" bass and I wasn't sold on the twangy lipstick pickups. I felt like the price was too high for what it was offering. From memory it was £750, which means Fender would try and get £1,250 for it these days.
It's interesting to me that FMIC seems willing to click the OTHER button with basses under the Squier line they wouldn't try with FENDER on the headstock.
