I'm sorry if this seems obvious but are you trying to learn how to read music or notation?
The notation class I took in college was dumb and irrelevant in my opinion. Nowadays everyone uses sibelius, finale, or even musescore. The day of getting paid for writing out player parts for each instrument is over.
