Details

LeCompte CBSC-4 #47; with Dual DarkStars.
I bought this from Sliderbass a while back.
It came with an Aguilar OBP-1 preamp in it which was rrrealllly counter to the character of this bass, so I had Bud LeCompte build a new wiring harness with the proper pots and cap to match the DarkStars, and installed it.
It's now Big Hefty Organic Mahogany Bliss, combined with DualDarkStar articulation and clarity.

Beautiful chamber mahogany body, maple neck, nicely figured pao ferro board, cap'd headstock.
Beautiful woods, awesome craftsmanship...what's not to love?

Retail on a build for a new one would start at over $2,000, and have you twiddling your thumbs for 6+months.

Steal this one now for $1000+shipping (via fee free paypal or other, at this price, please and thanks!), in the LeCompte gig bag; and save yourself something like 60% off!!!!

Shoot, just buying the DarkStars on ebay would set you back $350 per anymore, if you can even find them!!!

Two Notes:
-The dual battery box was inserted/mounted into the back of the body control cavity cover. I removed it, and taped over the outside with black cotton gaffer's tape, and over the inside with copper foil to preserve the excellent shielding job Bud does. Bud can make you a new cover if this completely bums you out. I feel the price is well in line with this "reversed back to stock performance minus the cover" modification.
-Only for sale while I'm chasing something else. I reserve the right to come to my senses.

replies to pm's:
1 9/16 width nut, or, slightly wider than J width. Shallow C-profile; not chunky.
This bass will support silly low action, Bud's fretboard level and fret work is beyond stellar.
I personally think the bass sounds better with the action "medium low," and have the action and pole pieces adjusted accordingly.

weight 8lbs and some change; light!

Balances on the strap nicely with no dive.

99% not interested in trades as I'm selling to finance something already in mind, but you can try.

Thank God!!!!! I almost bought this at least fifteen times today. I just couldn't justify it after buying a Fodera this week. What a cool bass!

I'm not really a single cut fan or an F-hole fan. But man that's hot.
