Underway . . . along with some other 5-String builds. (Right now the waiting list is about 4 months to beginning of a build/7 months to delivery of a build)
This bass is being built in collaboration with Milena Matic, an Acrylic Artist from Vancouver, WA. This bass will be called IzaDorra, named after a character motif that Milena has developed. You can visit her website at Link Removed
Some dimensions for the wood strips I use to layup a 5 string neck:
The center Maple strip: 3/4" wide x 1" deep x 36" long
The two Purpleheart (or other wood) strips: 1/4" wide x 1" deep x 36" long.
The outer Maple strips: 7/8" wide x 1" deep x 36" long.
Then, for the 6 string, I add two 3/8" wide x 1" deep x 36" long outer strips of Maple.
Then, after layup and drying, I mill the neck blank to 7/8" thick, square and true.
The finished dimensions of the neck will be 2 1/8" wide at the nut, 3 1/2" wide at the 24th fret. More later . . . thanks!
