Left elbow pain

I play in a cover band with my Dingwall NG3 as my main bass. It sounds great and has tremendous versatility in tone, and as you probably know, a fanned-fret design. The B string is 37", the G is 34". The bridge and nut are both angled, so let's say it's around 35.5" effective scale length as far as the reach on the neck is concerned.

My problem is that by the end of the gig, my left elbow is pretty sore, making it challenging to pack up gear at the end of the night. My left forearm and wrist feel tight as well, but it's the elbow that hurts. I assume that the longer scale length plays a part in this. I am a large guy (6'3"/190cm) with proportionally long arms.

I'm planning to use one of my 34" scale basses at our next gig to see if I fare any better, but I do love my Dingwall and would like to keep using it. Can you recommend any stretching or position or technique adjustments that will help reduce the strain on my elbow?

Do you find that your traps are tight or 'feature' a trigger point?
Releasing those has helped me in the past with elbow and wrist strain. Tight forearms, biceps, chest and front delts contribute strongly also. The pain in the chain may wonder but the underlying causes are the same.
Unfortunately, working out a trigger point WILL be painful but it is pain whose timing and intensity is controlled.
