This is a weird situation but I bought a used left handed bass and they had swapped everything to be right handed(strings, strap hook, nut). I had just finished swapping everything back to left handed and as i was tuning it I couldn't get the strings to sound right. I then realized the neck was also right handed. Is this a major problem or am I just tuning the bass poorly? This is my first bass so I'm not very experienced

Left to Right to Left Conversion?

So, if you look at how the bridge saddles are staggered, this is due to string thickness. You’ll need to adjust it to the exact opposite. You can search for “how to adjust bass intonation.”

Actually, I looked at your bridge. That intonation should be close to correct.
He should just learn to set the intonation anyways.

As you're new to this, take it to an experienced repair guy.
Essentially, to move it back to left-handed-ness, the bridge (the big chrome assembly at the bottom of the body) and the nut (the plastic strip with the four grooves at the start of the fingerboard right after the tuning keys) need to be checked. If either is still right-handed, it will not work right. Then have the overall setup evaluated and done after those two items are right, and you're good to go.
BE SURE and have these items made right. It's hard enough as a beginner, and a difficult to play bass (much less one that won't play in tune with ease the length of the fingerboard) is adding difficulty that's just not necessary.
