Guy is selling this bass as a vintage American Stardard.
Real or fake? And moreover does anyone know of a good resource to be able to see how Fenders from x year should look like so I myself could identify any future fakes
Usually there’s a MADE IN USA decal right below the Fender logo and model name on USA models front of the headstock. MIM models tend to say Made in Mexico on the backside of the headstock. MIJ tends to be at the base of the neck where it joins the body.
Instincts tell me it’s MIM but wait a few & more knowledgeable TB’ers will chime in.
Can you ask the seller for a few more detailed pics?
No. Wrong bridge (screws on all four corners). The neck looks a little funny on the back, I don’t believe that MIA Fenders have ever had tuners like that, and the logo looks off to me.
