Lekato 5.8mhWireless charging issue?

Still very pleased with the Lekato 5.8mhz wireless system which I bought via Amazon U.K. last June however I did comment in a posting a while back that the transmitter unit takes longer to charge than the receiver, well this has gradually become longer and instead of taking say 10 minutes longer the transmitter is now taking well over an hour longer. In fact, on Saturday I charged both units before a gig and I never used them at the gig and I needed to use them last night so I thought I’d give them a quick boost charge but in reality it took 2 hours to charge the receiver and about 4 hours for the transmitter! How is this when they had both only been fully charged a few days ago?

Anyway, I have contacted Lekato via Amazon and I’ve received the usual stupid response - “please forward a video or photos of the problem” !!!! How can I send them a video, do I just send a photo of the units with the red charging lights lit?

I’m awaiting a response to my slightly sarcastic reply to them, but I feel it’s going to be an uphill slog to get this resolved. The Amazon site just tells you to contact the manufacturer regarding any warranty issues and there doesn’t seem to be any way of getting them involved at the moment, however my understanding of buying things that the retailer is responsible for any issues, I have not bought it from the manufacturer I have bought it from Amazon and my contractor is with them.

Anybody else had similar issues (with the Lekato units or Warranty issues with them and Amazon)?

I have a pair of their JW-06
(Ask why I have two some time) And no issues, however we are buying cheaper tech and the rechargeable batteries are subject to performance variations. You're though this Jeffery's issue to resolve for you.

There is a phone number for Amazon he you Google hard enough AND if you haggle just as hard they'll either give you the refund or send you a new item.

The stupidity or Jeffrey paying minimum wage means that the agents couldn't careless!

This is the reply I’ve just received from Lekato to resolve the issue;

“Hello,
Please fully charge the device first and keep it charged until the red light goes out.
Sincerely Yours”

Is there any hope???

Recently I had another but similar problem with my M-Wave 5.8GHz wirleless system which I've bought from Aliexpress in July 2021 for $43. The transmitter's battery life between charges for the last year was gradually becoming shorter and shorter, until it was unable to hold even 3 hours rehearsal. I've disassembled the transmitter, and sure enough the battery was swollen up to the point that I was unable to close the casing back again.
Well, I've ordered an UHF wireless system from TEMU for $25, which for now works just fine. As for my M-Wave, I've ordered a replacement battery (again from TEMU) for $1.5. It arrived a couple of days ago. I've replaced the original battery with it, and now the system works fine again. I think I will still use it for practive and rehearsals, and save the new system for gigs.

Looks good, in reality it probably has the same electronics internally as the WS-50 but I do like the built-in charging facility.
Yeah from what I've seen seen and read and watched on videos you're right. The have perfumed flawlessly for me so far.

What put me off the WS-50s was the mini/mirco usb charging (I'd been on a 12 month mission to rid myself of all non USB-C charged devices, it's cool that you can use the charging block as a power bank as well.

Yeah, you’re right I hate the micro B connections too. Going to have another look at the JW-06 later.

I've read various comments on the internet and it would seem that the Lekato and Joyo are identical products, just re-badged, and they even use the same reference for them, ie JW-06.

I've ordered a set of the Lekato's, purely because Amazon sell both of these but alternate them as being on offer, at the moment the Lekato is £15 less than the Joyo, but in a few weeks they will swap over and it will be the Joyo one that is on offer and the Lekato back up to full price.

Looking forward to getting them, I think the charging/docking station is a really good feature. Also, unlike my Lekato WS-50 (which I have now returned to Amazon) on the JW-06 you have the option to select 4 different frequencies, I don't believe the WS-50 has that feature it just has an on/off switch unless it switches channels automatically? I was never happy with the WS-50's rather weak on/off switch and I did inadvertently switch one of the units on during transit on one occasion. I hope the buttons on the JW-06 are less prone to this but the buttons do seem quite big and are a push operation rather than a slide switch. Will have to wait and see. The JW-06 is also advertised as having a 6 hour battery life as opposed to 5 hours on the WS-50 which is good, but because the docking station is chargeable it's possible to give them a boost at any time even if no mains power is available. I did also read that the docking station can also charge other devices but I need to look into that further to see how it works.

Pleased so far with my new Lekato JW-06, it took a bit of getting used to the plug in transmitter and receiver units though as they are in a fixed position and do not bend or swivel. Performance wise they are fine and the charging cradle is very nice.

I used these in conjunction with an XVive U3 wireless set from my board to the desk and no noticeable latency at all.

Yeah, the units are smaller than most others but they still stick a bit. You can rotate them to minimise that, but they still stick. I generally use a little extension cable (~50cm) from the output of my bass to the transmitter, and then mount the transmitter elsewhere: my strap or even in my pocket!

Good idea! I do like to be able to see the illuminated Lekato button on the transmitter though.

I also like the Lekato JW-02S wireless system.

Put it in the pocket of your transparent trousers?
Nah, I didn't think so ;)

I was using a Lekato WS-90 which is shaped a bit like the Joyo you mentioned, but I really like the charging box system for the JW-06, such a great idea! So now my WS-90 are my home set and I keep the JW-06 with my gig stuff ready to go.

Yes the charging dock is really good and I’m finding that both units charge fairly quickly. The fact that the transmitter and receiver are fixed rigid still marks me a bit, if your output socket on your bass is at the bottom like mine you can’t see the illuminated switch very easily.
