Lekato 5.8mhWireless charging issue?

it's kinda ironic that this post in my feed is next to a 'I've totally gone wireless!' post from the same author a year ago.

yeah, that's what may happen with a wireless system with a built-in battery. that's why professional grade systems usually use user-changable batteries. when something's wrong with the battery, you just take spare AAs and you're good again. I've learned the same lesson back in day when I was in my wireless phase. built-in batteries are inconvenient for professional use, but pretty fun otherwise.

in fact, over a year of heavy use already could degrade the built-in battery, typical lifespan of li-ion under constant use is like several years. over some time it only would get worse. I won't say, it's a defect or something, the batteries just like work like that.

if you still have the warranty, well, your best bet is swapping for new units, that also will develop those problems in a year or two. an alternative is to find a local repair guy that can get and install the new batteries.

I know, this doesn't help much, but it's what it is.

Yes, having separate replaceable batteries is always going to be the better option, in fact I still use my Line 6 G50 wireless occasionally and it is still seated on my pedalboard even though if at present not connected up. There are situations however, such as playing in church where I do not take my pedalboard and these small wireless units are brilliant, unfortunately I encountered a charging issue with my Lekato WS-50 but this is not the case with the JW-06. Amazon happily refunded my monies on the WS-50 and paid only £13 more for the JW-06 which in reality is a much better buy.

Wireless units with built-in batteries from the likes of Lekato and Joyo are very reasonably priced and if they last 3 or 4 years are worth the investment in my opinion. I’m not sure though on the relatively expensive units from Boss (WL-20?) as I don’t think their built-in batteries are rechargeable???
