Double Bass lemur tosca model

hi, i´m a double bass player from colombia and want to buy a new instrument, since there is not a lot of bass for sale here i have to buy in the USA. I´m considering to buy a tosca model from lemur music.
Does anyone have experience with this instrument?
any comments are appreciated.

Ha! I just put my Tosca down for a few minutes to look at TalkBass. I bought my Tosca about a month ago and have been very happy. As always, it's good to play an instrument before you buy it but Lemur is a safe bet. My bass in particular has good tone and although it is not really powerful she projects well. I have played on plenty of East Asian basses and in my opinion the Tosca model is one of the better ones. However, before you make a decision I suggest you take a trip to Upton Bass in Connecticut if possible. They make some great basses in every price range including $4-5000. And you can look at Shens while your there.

I think Gary and Eric moved most of the basses to the Boston showroom although new basses are still being made and most of the repair work is still done in Stonington. I was there about three weeks ago and the showroom almost looked empty in comparison to other times I have visited. There are Uptons however there to try. And they play so easily. Gary or Eric please chime in if I am not completely accurate.
