Lest we forget...

My grandfather helped in liberating Belgium and Holland. My other grandfather helped liberate Holland and I think France. But I know he fought in Germany. Both of them gave me their medals and it's really a great feeling to know that they put so much on the line and came back without a scratch. A lot weren't so lucky. I may be in the spoiled brat generation but one thing's for sure, I'll never take for granted what they did.

Thats one of the stupidest friggin posts I've ever seen in my life. Sadly, in the space of 50 or so years, we have gone from "The Greatest Generation", to spoiled brats that post crap like that. My father served in WW2 (yep..he was pretty old when I was born!) , and my mother was a child on the British coast whose entire town got bombed to heck and back, and I couldn't be prouder.

:o :) He did good.

A lot of us, especially the younger generation doesn't realise how good our lives are. More then 30 million died to secure the way we live today, and that deserves some serious credit.

We owe our freedom to the men and women who gave their lives for it.

Never forget the price that others have paid, so that we might enjoy the liberties that we sadly take for granted.

With all applicable respect, sir :rollno:, I doubt it. You see my Father, Stepfather, and Father-in-law, all served during WWII. The mere fact that you would have the audacity to make such a misguided statement proves that you are in fact not fit to lick the blood and mud from their boots.

And on the behalf of the three veterans mentioned above: to the continent of Europe....."You're welcome!"

(now back to your regularly scheduled programming)

+1. My dad served in WWII, flew 50 missions, was shot down, and while blinded from the crash, helped save his pilot. Thanks, Dad, for what you did for our country, even for Miss Quakwhatever.

While I wholeheartedly respect those men who fought and died so that people like my grandfathers didn't have to, I think it's equally absurd of some of you to accuse my generation of cowardice in the face of adversity when there haven't been many world wars to fight like our predecessors had.

How's about some idiocy and disrespect to counteract idiocy and disrespect?
