Let's see the veterans in uniform!

This photo is not me, or my unit. I have never served. It is from this morning's Veterans day ceremony at my daughters school. One of the teachers is in the National Guard, and organized a color guard for the flag raising.

It was good for the kids to see a few the people we are commemorating today. Puts a real face to it. The flag was from the casket of the Principals father, who served in WWII.

Graduation day, USMC boot camp, 1967. I'm receiving a medal for shooting the highest score on the rifle range. I'm the young-looking one.

1967? Are you sure? It looks like it's 1940's and isn't that Eisenhower on the left?

IDF Navy does not allow taking pictures of soldiers in uniforms. Of course once my service is over in 20 days I'll be able to post some photos.

Until I saw this thread I hadn't really thought about it in a long time. I don't have any pics of me in uniform and the last pic I recall was the photo that went into the local paper after USAF boot camp back in 1977.

Funny you should say that. All the buildings at MCRD San Diego at that time were 1940s vintage.
