Let's spread some musical misinformation

Strapless will be a new feature on all 2018 Fender basses. For $50 surcharge no strap buttons will be mounted.

This is in recognition that 99% of basses never get used outside the home, and only used sitting down.

For an additional $50 they will leave off the G string as it never gets used. If you need a G strung you are either a stripper or a guitarist.

It's also a great place for bandmates and drummers to put their drinks. The bass cabinet is taller and heavier and less prone to movement if someone bumps it so it's a no brainer to put the drinks on top of the tallest part which is the head. Also the ice in the cups helps keep the tubes cool, so it's a win-win.

Sometimes audience members store their drinks on the exterior of the singer.

Leo Fender, known for not playing an instrument, was also tone deaf. Couldn't sing a melody in tune if his mother's life depended on it.

After apprenticing as a guitar maker because he was good in woodshop, he designed a bass with frets. He thought that if even he could play it precisely, anyone could. Thus, the Precision Bass and the myth of the non-singing bass player was borne.

To play bass in Canada you need a BAC (Bass Acquisition Certificate) and must have taken the Bass Safety Course.

You will also need a permit to transport your bass from your home to any other destination.

If you are 16 or under, you must be accompanied by a licensed adult while you play.

There is a $5000 fine for playing a Rush song out of season.

Cowboy Junkies songs are considered pests and may be played year 'round.
