hartke kilo is getting sent back due to excessive overheating. LH1000 is available at local GC for 345$ used. I was gonna go up there and crank it up a bit. Anyone use this amp for a heavy rock outfit?

I've owned an LH1000 for almost a year. I bought it used for $350 from GC. I have used this amp with every variety of music including some "Thrash-Death Metal" jams with two full stack loud-ass guitars and it keeps up very easily! I primarily run mine with a 215 4ohm cab and I run the amp in bridge mode. The volume knob has never seen the noon position. I'm not a big fan of the "tone stack" but thats just me, these amps are a huge value.

I was going to suggest some GC "pro-coverage" warranty to ease the worried mind but I see ya did that, cool!
I wouldn't recommend the adapter for bridge mode but it will work just fine as long as you remember to have the amp off when plugging the speaker cabs in, of course you already know that so rock on!!

I preferred the LH500 to the LH1000. But yes I used one in a hard rock setting with either a BFM Jack 210 or a fEARful 15/6. I really love the Fender Bassman tone stack personally, this amp does not distort at all, very clean. If you want dirt you'll need a pedal. I can't speak about running bridged, I never did, never needed to.

I am not bridging either as it's more than loud enough. I play sabbath style down tuned poopie so I use a big muff bass but I got to tell u I don't like it. It's just mud

So the LH is not a GK high fidelity, however I never had a mud issue. Now, that could be the pedal. Especially around these parts people's not liking them the Big Bass Muff very much. That's why people like Fuzzrocious Grey Stache, Wren and Cuff TFR, Stomp Under Foot Civil War cause they sound good and fuzzy and don't get as muddy.

When I used a LH1000 through both a BFM 210 and a fEARful 15/6 (not at the same time) I was playing a 5 string tuned in A Standard and I never had an issue with mud. Honestly I also rarely went down to the A itself.
