Yep...animals have a magical way of healing your heartI guess my life essential is having life. My wife moved out and left me her two mini lop rabbits which I didn't really ask for. They are a big part of keeping me sane right now. I look to whatever keeps me hanging on and these little guys do just that. They're brothers and they are inseparable. You can learn a lot from these little guys.

Used to use the phone book if needed. No more of those around here, maybe a catalog from a music store. They work better if you get the pages a little wet first.Naaaaah, you'd either have a funky smelling hand or one that was chapped from near constant washing. The single exception would be if you were a Marine and had learned the art of the single sheet wipe.
For every problem there is a solution. We may not love that solution, or even like it, but we must accept it, or as in this case, walk around with a nasty smell following us at all times, except for the span between last bath and first post bath movement.
No problem...I'll see myself out...

Oh this thread is not about me my friend, I was bored and just making some conversationGreat answer.
For me, it's time. That could go hand in hand with solitude. I adore my wife and girls. But I also really enjoy several hobbies they aren't into as much. Kayaking, bass, electronics (amp modding), and working land (my big wooded yard and my family's farm about an hour drive from here).
The basics are easy. Water, food, shelter. The one essential I lack is time to myself to do with as I please.
That being said, as long as two sweet girls hug me and kiss my cheeks and tell me they love me every single day, I'll make it.
OP, if you're in the finding a girlfriend game, you need to think more about what SHE thinks is essential.
I could literally lay my head on a mattress on the floor every night and be fine. The queen and the princesses? Not so much.
I could spend a week in the woods with no power and no phone and come out a more peaceful person. Them? Not so much.
I could drive around in an old rusty pickup with mud on the tires and be happy. My ladies? They would never get in it with me.
I could eat a PBJ or a grilled cheeseburger 5 nights a week for dinner. My girls? Not even close.
My idea of a Saturday morning is getting up at 5 a.m. and hitting the nearest lake on the kayak when there's not so much as a ripple on the surface of the water. Them? Sleep late. Lay around and watch a movie. Go get their nails done.
My only point is, now is not the time to be concerning yourself with the bare essentials. You're looking for a woman. Those two things won't happen at the same time.![]()
I hear you, we always skipped the glossy pages in the Sears catalog.Used to use the phone book if needed. No more of those around here, maybe a catalog from a music store. They work better if you get the pages a little wet first.
I quit smoking, drinking, drugs and burritos. It was the worst ten minutes of my life!I've been trying to quit alcohol altogether, but if I don't imbibe for about two weeks I get a hankering.
I should be practicing now, but instead I'm drinking beer & watching television.
If we didn't need to recreate our minds/body, we'd get a lot more done in our lives!
I've known a few guys who went balls to the wall & never indulged in any recreation, and eventually they cracked.
One guy even dropped that he was considering suicide, and was immediately removed from his high stress job & flown back to Blighty..
On a related side note:
Once upon a time I'd take on jobs that required immediate travel to places I'd never been before.
I'd get the cheapest room in town & get a motorbike taxi to work every day.
The living conditions were pretty bad, but I made do. (think worst hotel in North America & divide their rating by 2, talking about SouthEast Asia)
It was almost better than working on a drilling rig & being cramped into a room with 20 other dudes for the night, LOL!
OTOH, we had our camaraderie.
and the food was gratis & not bad
A friend had a small restaurant and he was the head everything except wait staff, his wife took care of the dining room.I quit smoking, drinking, drugs and burritos. It was the worst ten minutes of my life!
