Instead, sticking a piece of tape at the bottom between the doorframe and the door is a good idea if your going on a long trip especially if you live in apartments or townhouses. The maintenance men all have keys which means easy access to your place which means they could very subtly be sneaking in and out, stealing little things at a time. Sadly we learned from first hand experience living in our old townhouse. The maintenance folks learned our schedule and realized we were gone on Sundays most of the day and stole things bit by bit, making us think we simply misplaced it at the time. Those sneaky bastards had the tenacity, for example, to steal our unused laptop and leave the case behind exactly where it was, so it went unnoticed for months. Another example I remember is when they stole my sisters IPod Touch, they left her earplugs behind, making us again think that she simply misplaced her IPod. One baffling moment in all this thievery was when they stole only $50 out of $400 laying out on the table - I have to give them props for there restraint. But, of course they get caught eventually when they get too greedy and steal my neighbors Xbox and all his games which added up to something like $700, which caused the police to get involved, which finally led to these scums getting caught.
bastards took my DSLR from its bag but left the bag in the same spot in the closet. I actually found out that the camera was gone when we were moving to our new house Who is talking about shortcuts?
You can use a pencil eraser to hold on your earring if you lose the metal clasp. I learned that from watching the movie "Just One of the Guys".

Whoa whoa whoa now, I am all for pastry equality, but just the concept of a Christmas cake is just not right. That is designated pie time.
You can also use a pencil eraser, and a bent paper clip, to make sparks fly out of your electrical sockets. Do not try this at home. Work? Totally cool.
Some pretty useful stuff there.
I myself do the remote controls velcroed to a piece of furniture deal.
my dad drilled holes in them and used cable to attach them to the coffee table. even more effective.
That sounds like overkill. Unless the cable was REALLY long, how would you lie down on the couch and use the remote?
Keep a tube of Super Glue next to your bed. If your significant other starts snoring just glue their lips together.
