Light Bass Amp Comparison

I can no longer lift my Fender Rumble 150 due to a recent permanent injury and my research show that a Gallien Kruger MB115 and a Hartke KB15 Kickback are much lighter and I can handle them. And now I'm hearing about the Fender Rumble 200 being a light weight power house. How do these three amps compare? I use a five string and need the solid bass to carry the low B. Thank you..

The Fender Rumble and GK I speak for - they are both quite LOUD. I think the GK MB has my vote though. If you can swing the cash, I would look at the GK MB 212. If you want more oomph and something that can handle more low end, you can't beat more speakers:

Thank you so much. There is quite a price difference so this is gonna take some consideration. Thank you again and have a great Thanksgiving Day.

You might want to check out the Traynor SB112 & SB115. Both 200W, sound great, built tough and pretty light.

I’ve never heard of Traynor. I’ve slways been a Fender guy but I will check with our local Music Store and see if I can try one out there. They have an awesome inventory. Thank you again for that info. Have a Happy Thanksgiving Day and please be safe.

I find the Rumble the “warmest” of the 3. If you are already inclined to the Fender sound, and budget is a concern, you’d probably be very happy with that. Plus, you can expand it with an extension cabinet.

I really like the GK MB amps too. A bit cleaner, but you can dial in some warmth and growl. Those drive GK’s proprietary powered cab, which could be seen as a pro or con.

Ive never been too thrilled with Hartke tone myself, but I’ve heard band using them and they can get pretty warm and full. No extension on that KB115 I believe

The Peavey Max lineup of combos are light, affordable and sound good. Invalid Link Removed

After reading your response and you using the term "Warm Sound" that convinced me....I purchased the Fender Rumble 200. And I'm enjoying it so far. I can't wait til the pandemic is controlled to be able to play with the band again to get the true sound but I really think this is what I was going for.
Thank you Call Me Al and everyone else for your input....

I have the head version of the Traynor SB200. I like it but would not characterize it as warm. Perhaps with a different speaker than I am using (Peavey 1 12" from a combo where the head died).
