Light guage nylon tapewounds? Am I insane?

Considering a 6 string set: La Bellas Light: .043 .050 .065 .085 .105 .135T, and using the 43-85 tuned EADG Am I insane? Would the tension be too much?
Love the sound of tapes, but with this bass and small old hands the larger gauge (of the lightest 4 string set) feels awkward.

Weird tension either way...perhaps too loose...especially getting the 50-65-85 to perform well at those pitches,D-A-E...La Bella's new Copper White Tapewounds,in the lighter gauge, are very flexible, feel/tensionwise. I've tried a few different tapes and these are very flexible,very smooth and sound fat,rich and clear.Worth a try....Go to basstrings online for best deal...Goodluck!

The nylon makes the strings a lot thicker than you might imagine. The Regular set has about the same tension as a standard 45-105 set, and the light gauge has about the same tension as a 40-95 set. If you want light tension, just purchase either the La Bella light gauge tapes or the D'Addario 50-105 tapes. They will be light enough without bumping them. You will get really floppy and lose intonation and tone if you try to bump a set of light gauge tapewounds.

I just ordered light white tapes for my Fender P and light white coppers for my Fodera.

I think they are cool strings!
