I just ran into this product. I believe it is quite new, and am wondering how people like them?

I have a B1 Four Zoom. I have thought processing problems, and don't find the Zoom very intuitive for me. The Line 6 appears it might be more straight forward to use.

If you have used both, how do you think they compare?

I was not a fan. Good as a practice tool. Sounded pretty good through the headphones and was pretty good through the amp. I just convinced my self it would be something I could use live, and you could, but it would be a pain for me and not worth what I’d get. Just not for me, but it’s a decent product. I like Line 6 and use my HX One all the time.

I like mine better than the B1 4, to me it’s easier to dial in sound then to make patches, everything sounds good to me, I find it much easier to get the sound I want than the B1 4, The only thing that I wish it had was drums. I’m keeping the B1 4 because of the drums. getting rid of a few other pedals, that this one covers nicely.

Just got it. I like it better than the Fly Rig I’d been using. The compression is versatile and the effects all sound good. The synths sound better with my octave pedal on +1. I don’t use the amp sims because my bass already has an 18v preamp. It’s the most intuitive multi I’ve ever used. So nice not to have to fiddle with menus on tiny screens, a real Luddite-friendly offering from Line 6.

Resurrecting this because the Pod 6 Express Bass is $50 off until the end of the year and I'm sorely tempted to get it. Here are my current effects:

Zoom B1 Four
Duncan Studio Bass Compressor

I only use the Zoom for practicing with headphones -- it's too fiddly to imagine playing live, and also pretty flimsy. I could just imagine having it on the floor, stepping on it accidentally, and getting some bizarre space sound or something.

I use the dedicated compressor when I'm rehearsing with the band or playing live. I don't use it to shape my tone, just to even out my uneven playing and get extra sustain.

The idea would be to get the Line 6 Pod Express for all of those uses. Use one of the compressors when I'm playing live or in rehearsal, with the option to throw on an octaver or add some crunch really easily by just twisting a knob. It would even replace my clip-on tuner.

The interface seems much more intuitive than the Zoom, although I haven't spent much time customizing the Zoom. I'll miss the drum kits in the Zoom that I use to warm up, although I could probably find something on the phone to feed to the Pod 6 Express.

So, thoughts? Is it less flimsy than the Zoom B4? Easy to use live? Are the effects better than the Zoom (for example, I think the Octaver on the Zoom does not sound good)?

Help talk me into or out of buying the Pod 6 for $129.

I pulled the trigger on it. It's so easy to use, and then you connect it to the app on the phone and there's an infinity of options.

Every effect is based on some real piece of hardware that I have no familiarity with.

I want to modify one of the synths to make a good synth bass sound. Obviously, not the octaver, but after that? Any advice to make one of the synths sound like the synth bass in Chameleon or Billie Jean?

Yes, it will tune a half-step down. I put a clip-on tuner and also plugged into the Pod Express and tuned my E down to Eb. You just have to move slowly, watching the lights show flat, flatter, flatter, sharper, sharp, tune.

As far as I can tell, there's no way to leave the sound on when tuning. I'll keep looking. When live, I wouldn't want that, but during setup, I would want the sound on (I'd hate to tune everything down a half-step or something).
