...in my opinion, it should not exist. I recognize that my issues is with a "minor detail" - the logo on the headstock. However, that logo, along with the headstock shape, is where the line is drawn.
I've got to agree with this...
In fact, I had my popcorn all ready to go, and have been surprised by the lack of fireworks, thus far.
If you're going to buy a bass with that shape headstock, and it says "Fender," then it should have been built by Fender...
Otherwise, that's shady business.
I must've missed something... As I understood it, Limelight basses *are* parts-licensed Fenders, "reconditioned" to specs and set up to play perfectly. The Limelight logo is in black marker on the back of the headstock.

I woukd be paying tribute to the design I love the same although the successors of the original designer would not get my money ... yes it's likely a copyright violation but the bass is very beautiful and surely, I hope, cheaper than Fender CS ... I'd like to buy one in effect
