Limiter Ampeg question

I run a MIA Fender P, with a P/J Bassline set (really hot pickups) into a Sadowsky Preamp into my Ampeg B2Re into an Ampeg 410 cab.
I feel like if I push my amp to the point of flashing red and yellow bulbs, it is loud enough to compete with the band and be heard with a sound that I actually like. I get a lot of complaints about my bass not being loud enough when I don't push my amp. I do play with a lot of treble and mids, but with bottom end supporting it as well (think Thursday - Full Collapse)

Would having the limiter go off as much as it does cause my amp to blow or my speakers to pop? I can turn off the limiter, but I am not sure if that is safe. I just want to know from fellow bassists who are more experienced than I if this is something that could potentially ruin my gear. If I did blow a fuse in my amp from playing too loud, would I be out of an amp, or is this something that could easily be replaced or fixed.

You are more than likely fine. Those lights aren't always accurate, and you should go with what your ears tell you instead of the lights. If your speakers are taking it without blowing or making nasty frapping sounds, you're fine.

I have a SLM era Ampeg B4r and a matching 8x10E (your rigs big brother!). Your red light should be set to only light up when you play your hardest (not every note), and the yellow light goes off when you are approaching the most your amp can constantly/consistently produce (it won't hurt your amp to run with the limiter light going on) but don't click the limiter off whatever you do as it will then try to work harder and may send some pretty inconsistent Watts to your cab which could hurt your speakers. My B4r has a breaker on the back located at the top left corner, which will pop before I will ever hurt anything inside my amp, if it goes off just wait a few minutes for it to cool down and reset it, make sure your B2re has this before you crank your amp so much that the yellow is always on! It sounds to me like everything is working great for you, keep up the hard work, and rock on! Cheers.
