Lindy Fralin pickups?

I've got a set of stock wound Fralins for p bass, undecided on which bass I want to put em in, perhaps the Matt Freeman but don't know if it will make much of a difference because the Freeman sounds really good as is with stock pups?? Decisions decisions

I saw a YouTube video of someone playing a black Fender P-Bass and was doing demo's of all different kinds of pickups, comparing them all with each other with the same Bass and the Lindy Fralin pickups sounded a great deal better then all the others and the other pickups were top brand names and some of them sounded great but the Lindy Fralin's were just fuller/rounder sounding, warmer, fatter and sounded better in the D & G string area too when he popped the string it sounded more matched and even not ear pearcing. Ever since I saw that video, I have been like if I ever get a Fender P-Bass I'm putting a Lindy Fralin split pickup in it, the full, warm sound of those pickups put a stain in my brain.

May I please ask which video was this I would like to catch it..

Have Fralins in a Nash and as recent as last nite people comment on how great that bass sounds vs others I play

Individual tastes may vary but you'd be hard pressed to find a better pickup than the Fralins

My Lakland P Bass has Lindy Fralin pickups that were stock at the time-2002- and I think they are full and rich and I would probably never change them. By the way one of my co-workers does business with Fan Guitar and Uke and has only good things to say about them.

I'm there right now and the output jack is having problems. He's currently trying to fix it now.

I have a p/j set of Fralins and while I would love to try other sets I just can't get rid of these (love trying new stuff). Too good!
Building another bass would probably end up with Fralins.

Fralins seem to be very highly regarded. Not as well known as Nordstrand, but in that same category in terms of quality, etc.

Probably better known for his strat pickups. At one point, I got the sense that his strat pickups were widely regarded as the absolute best

I'm a huge fan of Nordstrand but think Carey has gained more (well deserved) recognition for three reasons I can think of - he has some great unique/signature design pickups like the big singles and bigman, his pickups are included in some production basses and last but not least he is a bass builder in addition to being a pickup maker.

Dave Seuferling loaded my custom P-type with Fralins, they sound great -- apparently they are his favorite.

OK I got it, go on YouTube and check out (Jazz Pickup Comparison test.(3/5) 11sets - slap, both).
Now like I said, this was a while ago so I thought it was split P-Bass pickup test but its both Jazz pickup test at the same time, it doesn't matter though Lindy Fralin Jazz and P-Bass pickups are both awesome, in this video where he slaps it really shows how open sounding these Lindy Fralin pickups are.

Well I just purchased! I offered him $290 and then bought his $30 softshell case. It's got new D'Addarios on it as well but they're definitely not flat wounds... It's also setup with low action which is nice.

I could be wrong but believe that Nordstrand is a full blown company with R&D/marketing/sales peeps...and Lindy is a dude winding pickups in his garage. Hard to compare.

Nordstrand is bigger, but still small enough that you can call or email and get custom work done for a modest additional feel.
