Line 6 AMPLIFi FX100

Doesn't it require an ipad/iphone? Not interested in a rehash of everything else they've done in a different package that requires I buy a friggin ithing.

Typically Line 6 releases this stuff and a portion of the effects work well on bass, others really suck. AFAIK, it's still using the M-series effects and therefore, don't expect everything to work well on bass (synths for example) but for the most part, delays/verbs/mods will work great. I use an M5 on my board for delays/verbs/mods and have been very happy. Distortions, drives, synths, and the likes don't work well at all.

have it! doesn't have bass amps like x3 had (have both of them), but it has dozen of guitar amps that are used by basists (fender bassman, marshall major, hiwat 100... etc)
also, it has tube preamp that is really really sweet for bass + "bass overdrive" pedal that's sansamp di simulator. works great! effects are good, really good. Also, many guitar amps (even higain models) sound really really good when used with bass.
Gazillion of effects are nice, and you can arrange them any way you want. you can even put a bunch of drive pedals at the same time in the signal. or flanges, or any possible combo. app works OK on smartphones and tablets, takes a bit to get used to, and user manual is pretty basic. + it's the same sound processor as x3 had (what i've red on line6 forum).

for the price, it's amazing.
