Next up is a slightly wider bottom plate so you can attach a Sonicake or Dunlop expression pedal too

I think it's so cool that you came up with this attachment and are selling them on your site! What would you use the extra switches for?

So when we come to this song in our set list, I hit ON and TAP to get into preset mode, rotate the knob to bank 18, however the modulation is not ON. I then have to exit preset mode, stomp TAP to enable modulation, then ON/TAP to get back into preset mode. Then the modulation is turned on (and only one now) in the presets. Switching to my bank 20 does not turn the modulation off (as I saved the preset). So I set that mod to NONE to compensate.

The manual states:
"Selecting and tweaking an amp, cab, or effect is all well and good, but saving presets with all your model settings makes recalling your favorite sounds even easier".

My expectation is to recall "favorite sounds" that have modulation on or off based on how I saved the preset. I know I can add switches and assign them but I am not looking to do that.

Another example of this use case would be to play a solo where you change presets to one that has say, fuzz and delay on.

Anyone have experience with this? All in all, it does not seem to work like Snapshots in the Stomp.

I wanted to use it like that too. I'm waiting for my footswitch. Send an email to Line 6 maybe?

When these extra foot switches are connected does that disconnect the original foot switches on the unit? Or, can the original switches be used for cycling through presets and the other two switches be used for something else?

Are the switches on your unit just putting the switches in a more convenient location for using feet?

The original footswitches still work, so you have 4 switches to utilize instead of just the onboard 2

Yes you could setup the switches like that; the Global Settings section of the manual describes all possible settings for both onboard switches as well as external switches.
I have not personally tried to run it off a power bank, but I've seen people doing it with my 2XL plate smas there's a power bank on one of the sides (but I couldnt tell you what they were, a volto maybe?)

The Pod Express is 5 x 3.5" x 2.2" I'd look for a cable organizer case, but if the size listed is for exterior dimensions (especially if it's a hard or padded case) make adjustments because the interior size will be ~ quarter-inch smaller. Invalid Link Removed $20 case is 5.1 x 4.7 x 2.4

I just got my Pod Express Bass today and like a lot of folks (apparently) I was thinking I'd return it until I connected it to the editor. None of the presets sounded like they did on videos I've watched, which was pretty disappointing.

Now I'm thinking I'm going to be selling my Zoom B6 instead because with the PEB and editor I can quickly get a great sounding bass tone with lots of options that sounds at least as good as the B6. I'm also finding that my basses sound different on the PEB while they all sounded pretty similar on the B6. I don't use effects at all, so this might just be the amp modeling trick for me.

I'm going to be testing it for a few days before putting the B6 up for sale, though.

This depends completely on what you're wanting it to do. If you're wanting easy access to switching effects on and off, there are better options out there. If you're wanting good sounding amp modeling that is easy to modify on the fly, this thing will probably work for you.

Is this what I would take on tour? Nope, I'd want a more robust unit. Is this what you want for lots of effects? Maybe, if you use a Pedalnetics Aux platform.

I got this unit a few days ago and I'm really liking it - trying to sell my Zoom B6, in fact. I'm primarily interested in amp modeling since I never use effects, so this is the right unit for me. I've learned some things about this unit in the days since I got it.

For one thing, if you connect it to your phone, tablet, or PC and access the global settings at the upper right you'll find these two settings at the bottom of the list:

Originally these are set to have the wheel control all outputs and the knobs to control effects. If you set them like mine are you can't accidentally affect your output by touching the wheel, and instead can set the volume of your patches using the master volume and channel volume in the amp section

With the controls set to control amp parameters it's easy to adjust the channel volume by pushing ALT and adjusting the amp knob, making the volume wheel not needed.

The other thing I've found is that the "Distort" distortion model is an emulation of the Sandamp Bass Driver, and a pretty good one on its own without an amp or cab. You can see the pic below shows the SABDDI selected.

I found the SABBDI manual online and made patches for a lot of the suggested settings. I think they sound as good as my memory of owning a SABBDI.

Well..I got one just to test it out.
I ONLY use it for two things...
1.) A bit of grit on a few tunes (4 or 5 out of the set)
2.) Some wavy shimmer via the phaser for just one or two tunes in the set.

Otherwise, just using the amp sims.

I added those two effects two the first 7 amp sims and adjusted the controls how I like...I turned the grit waaaay down on all that had it, balanced the volumes, eq etc. I have a two button momentary footswitch which is: left = dirt on/off Right = phaser on/off.

It works great for me live.

THE ONLY wish I have is to light up the effects when they are active...at least the "bank" so that I don't have to wonder since the footswitch doesn't have an LED.

Im getting one to go with my Zoom B3. The B3 will be always on eq and amp sims( which i like the sound of). The Line 6 for easily getting chorus, reverb, etc;
