Line 6 HX Stomp

This sounds really good! Thanks for uploading. Would you mind share your settings?

Actually I have a bit of " Elf on the Shelf" mischief to reveal...

I don't actually have an HX Stomp. :) I'm recording through my old Line 6 Bass Pod Xt :bassist::woot:

Does it still hold up? It is the GK800rb sim with Hartke 4x10 XL. We on the song was bass slightly boosted, low mids cut slightly ,high mids and treble slightly boosted.
What do you think? :)

I thought it sounded really good! Really clear sounding and not too darkened by the amp/cab. Something weird happened to the muff and I don’t know what I think about the chorus effect. But I was really impressed by the clean sound! Good work!

Ok. Done. Sorta. Gotta clean up the wiring. Still not sure what I’m gonna do about midi and such. But I’ll get there. Eventually.

Happy Holidays Guys,
Well I'm back at it again. I'm really digging the Gallien Krueger 800RB sim. I added a Hartke 4x10xl cab sim. This is my G&L L2000 with Dunlop Super Bright Nickels in passive, parallel mode and both pickups. I added a few effects models here and there. Mostly an analog chorus and a Muff PI sim. Let me know what you think. Comments welcome...
Only about the amp sim though and not my horrible playing! :)
Best wishes,
Brent

Was going to say, this sounds like a really nice modern bass tone - well done!

Ok, except for the rusty, mbd and c4. I’d say you can get everything else from the stomp?

yep, pretty much. I just have to figure out my whammy and wah options. I know I can pull good to passable sounds out of the stomp with an exp, but the stomp only has the one out for exp. So it’s either exp or an external fs for use to scroll through presets. That’s what I want to use it for. So I may end up getting the morning start so I can use it to scroll through presets on the stomp as well as the C4. Then use the exp out on the stomp for wah/whammy stuff. I am pretty sure that’s the road I’ll end up having to go down. Just gotta wait a little to afford the morning star pedal.

But other than that, I’m set as hell.

Expression jack is TRS. You can do 2 expression pedals, or one foot switch and expression, or 2 switches.

Well see, I want the switch to be a dual switch so I can scroll thru presets on the stomp and then I want to be able to use an exp on top of that. That is not possible. Unless I get a midi switcher.
Yeah, that's not a switch and an expression, it's two switches and an expression. You need something like the DMC Micro for that--it switches over midi, and also has an expression input which it converts to midi. You could then add two more switches for a total of four, two more expressions for a total of three, or one of each.

I plan on getting the Morning Star MC6 for midi switching and then use the exp out on the stomp for 2 exp pedals. Eventually. For now, I'm just gonna use the C4 for a POG sorta sound and go without a wah for the time being. Or just run my way off-board for a while.

sounds like you are setting up a pedalboard similar to mine.

I'm curious about how folks who are running an HX S with another MIDI pedal are chaining MIDI control and managing preset setlists.

For my event band gigs, I really like the HX Edit's drag-and-drop setlist management. But I'm running outboard synths (Future Impact and recently added C4), which complicates keeping the synth patches in sync with the HX S patches.

Schopes, on your board does the HX S just relay the MC6's commands via USB straight to your SA C4, or is there a MIDI hub involved? And do you use the HX Edit's setlist function to update preset order on your Stomp? If so, how are you keeping the C4's synth patches synced with the Stomp's presets?

I'd like to avoid adding an MC6/MC8 for space reasons (I run a DMC Micro, which keeps the board compact enough to live in one of the band's two rolling racks.). But it looks like I might have to give up using Hx Edit's setlists and also move to something like the Morningstar on a bigger board.

Yeah this is a little too minimalist for me. But this would def be about half of my ideal setup. Wish I could get down that small but I just can't let go of my dirt tones. I can't get exactly what I want from the Stomp. And that's ok, I still think the Stomp offers some really good dirt tones in it. I actually am using it for rat and muff sounds now.
