Line 6 Relay G30 vs G50 question

I wonder why Line6 chose a standard 1/4" jack on the cheaper one and put a weird one on the more expensive...

Seems bass-ackwards. (oops)

I built a couple cables for my lead guitarist's G50. I had to order the locking ⅛-inch stereo plugs from Markertek. They were not easy to solder, but he ended up with a couple pro-level cables for less than $15 apiece. They even work.

I have the G30 and really like it. Battery life is great and having 1/4' connectors is the reason that I bought it initially. It has not disappointed me in the past 6 months.

there was no physical room in the higher-end transmitter for the 1/4" jack (which entails a lot of empty internal space).

Makes sense. I kinda thought that might be the deal, but wasn't sure...

I didn't see it mentioned while skimming through this thread, but the G50 and G90 support 12 different channels whereas the G30 only has 6 channels. This may help if you've got other sources of radio interference in the 2.4Ghz range to contend with.

FWIW: I have a G90 and have been very happy with it. But get a Shure WA304 right-angle TA4F cable to replace the one that comes with it...

I saw those on Amazon before I ordered my XDS95 - now that I have it, I cant find em anymore
