1 x Line Audio CM4 Cardioid Condenser Microphone. CM4 -CARDIOID CONDENSER MICROPHONE Made in Sweden. The CM4 is the follower of CM3. Not surprisingly it ended up sounding very much like the CM3, with a slightly refined, more neutral off axis response and a slightly higher back damping.
This little microphone has a natural, detailed and balanced response. Perfect for natural reproduction of acoustical instruments such as members of the bowed and plucked string-families, grand piano, brass, percussion, overhead choir and voice -with a minimum of colouration. The linear off axis...
I love my CM3's and would love to get a pair of CM4 mics, but the line audio site says they no longer take direct orders and you can get them only from authorized resellers, none of which are currently in North America. Can anybody think of a workaround? I just did a recording here at the house and my pair of CM3's in x/y configuration are perfect for the piano, but that leaves me none for the bass.
2 months ago I bought a CM4 from Line Audio CM4 Condenser microphone. Their website is currently showing 1 in stock in their shop in Copenhagen. Just tried calling them, but they're closed for the weekend so I can't confirm if it is indeed in stock.
Unfortunately, their website is in Danish only, and they seem to also ship to Scandinavia only.
So I went ahead and ordered it I'll check with them on Monday if it's in stock. If it is, they'll ship it within 2-4 days. I can ship it to you if you PM me your address and once it has arrived safely with you, we can sort out any payment/reimbursement, if you're interested ? - I don't know yet what shipping from Denmark to US will cost, but let's call that a minor detail
You're welcome to see if you can get one more easily from another source, of course. If that is not possible, consider my offer as a 'backup plan'; I really only need one CM4, but like it so much that a pair is 'nice to have', rather than 'need to have'.
