I was going to post this on the BG side, but there is no forum for music, so I'm trying here.

What are the most popular country songs to play for line dancing? I'll be playing a gig in February, and we already know that people will want to line dance.

Is Boot Scootin' Boogey one? I'm looking for songs that are well-known.

So much fun!!! Way to go, and yes absolutely. There are a number of modern songs like that which have more or less prescribed dance routines, and if you have any swing dancers in the house, throw out a few old Bob Wills type numbers and you’ll have everyone grinning.

That's kind of a '90's thing, isn't it? In addition to those Sam mentions, "Fast as You" by Dwight Yoakum and "Watermelon Crawl" by Tracy Byrd come to mind. And yes, "Boot Scootin' Boogie" is definitely one.

The original is slightly slower than Boot Scoot...but you can fix that.

Tracy Byrd "I'm From the Country" should work.
